Intermountain Gets $150M Gift for Nevada's First Children's Hospital
Intermountain Health received a $150 million philanthropic commitment from Ben and Felicia Horowitz to build Nevada's first stand-alone children's hospital in Las Vegas. The facility, to be named the Intermountain Health Felicia and Ben Horowitz Children's Hospital, will break ground the week of Oct. 26 and open in 2030 at UNLV's Harry Reid Research and Technology Park. The gift, one of the largest ever to a children's hospital, will fund recruitment of pediatric specialists, expanded specialty care programs, pediatric research, and behavioral health services. The project is part of Intermountain's broader push to build a connected pediatric care network across its six-state Western footprint.
Why it mattersThe new facility will expand access to pediatric specialty and behavioral health services for Nevada Medicaid-covered children who currently must travel out of state for specialized care.
