PacificSource to Cut 134 More Jobs by Year-End 2026

PacificSource, a Springfield, Oregon-based health insurer, filed a WARN notice on Oct. 20 announcing 134 layoffs across Springfield, Bend, Salem and Portland, effective Dec. 31, 2026. The company cited its exit from Montana, the end of its Affordable Care Act exchange offerings, and a "right-sizing" of its Oregon workforce as reasons. This marks the fourth round of layoffs since September 2025, following cuts tied to declining Medicaid membership in Lane County and unexplained reductions, bringing total layoffs over 13 months to 550. An earlier May 2026 WARN notice cited similar reasons for 97 job cuts.

Why it mattersSustained workforce reductions at a major Medicaid managed care plan signal shrinking membership and market exits that could affect plan capacity, provider relations, and member services in Oregon's Medicaid program.
