Virginia Republican Wittman Voted to Extend ACA Subsidies After 60 Repeal Votes
Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) was one of 17 House Republicans who voted in January 2026 to extend expired ACA subsidies, despite voting 60 times to repeal the ACA in 2017. Congress ultimately let the subsidies lapse, leading 94,000 Virginians to drop their insurance coverage. Wittman cited constituent impact as his reason for the vote.
