MultiCare Finalizes Samaritan Health Affiliation, Pledges $700M
MultiCare Health System completed its affiliation with Samaritan Health Services on November 1, finalizing a deal first announced in 2025. MultiCare committed $700 million over 10 years to expand access, recruit and retain clinicians, support workforce development, and upgrade facilities and technology across Samaritan's Oregon service area. Samaritan retains its name, local leadership, and community-based governance, while its CEO also becomes a senior vice president at MultiCare. The affiliation grows MultiCare into an 18-hospital system spanning Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, with Samaritan's five hospitals serving over 280,000 residents in Oregon's mid-Willamette Valley and central coast.
