Allegiance Health Management to Divest Four Louisiana Hospitals

Allegiance Health Management announced Oct. 5 plans to sell four Louisiana hospitals: Minden Medical Center, Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, and Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. The Bossier City-based company, which operates 13 hospitals across Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, said the move aims to position each facility for long-term sustainability. No buyers or timeline were disclosed; the transactions remain subject to customary approvals. CEO Scott Prouty said the company will work with community leaders, staff, and prospective owners to minimize disruption to patients and care continuity during the transition.

Why it mattersOwnership changes at these rural Louisiana hospitals could affect Medicaid managed care network adequacy, provider contracting, and continuity of care for beneficiaries in the affected service areas.
