NLRB Charges Rogers Behavioral Health Over Firings of Union Supporters
The National Labor Relations Board issued a complaint against Rogers Behavioral Health, a Wisconsin-based behavioral health provider, alleging it illegally fired six employees and threatened them with criminal and civil charges during a union organizing campaign at its West Allis clinic. The complaint, filed Oct. 8 by an NLRB regional director, says the firings and threats were meant to discourage union activity after employees voted 53-4 in April to join the National Union of Healthcare Workers; Rogers has declined to recognize the union and is appealing the vote. A hearing before an NLRB administrative law judge is set for Dec. 14 in Milwaukee. Rogers says it respects employee rights under federal labor law but declined to comment on the pending case.
