HHS Awards $27.8M to Fund Older Adult Fall Prevention Programs

HHS named recipients of a $27.8 million fund to reduce falls among older adults, distributed across three years to nine organizations including Area Agencies on Aging, state health departments, and community groups. Each of the award recipients will receive $1,940,162, subject to fund availability, to expand the CDC's STEADI fall-risk screening program and the Stepping On community balance program. Recipients include home-and community-based service providers such as Central Maine Area Agency on Aging and Partners In Care Foundation, alongside state agencies like the Maryland Department of Health.
