NASEM Report Highlights Maternal Mortality Gaps, Medicaid Coverage Extensions

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released a report on maternal mortality showing Black mothers face a maternal mortality rate of 44.8 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2024, significantly higher than other populations.
