Sharon Regional Medical Center to Suspend All Hospital Services
Sharon (Pa.) Regional Medical Center will suspend acute care, outpatient operations, and emergency department services beginning Nov. 6 at 8 a.m., a hospital spokesperson told Becker's. The hospital said the move is part of a restructuring to create a more sustainable, cost-effective clinical footprint focused on services most needed by the community. Patients requiring inpatient care will be stabilized and transferred to other facilities. Sharon Regional had already paused inpatient services Oct. 29 while keeping its ER open, and missed two consecutive pay cycles in October before paying employees in early November. The hospital was previously closed by Steward Health Care in January 2025 and reopened in May 2025 after acquisition by Tenor Health Foundation.
