LGBTQ+ Virtual Therapy Provider Allswell Raises $7M Seed Round

The company plans to expand beyond its current Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia service area into new regions with large LGBTQ+ populations, and to add medication management as a new line of business. Allswell currently serves hundreds of patients through about 40 clinicians, is in-network with commercial insurance and Medicaid, and reports that roughly two-thirds of its patients are Medicaid beneficiaries. ReThink Impact's managing partner Heidi Patel will join Allswell's board as the company builds out specialized clinical training for therapists serving LGBTQ+ patients.

Why it mattersMedicaid managed care plans and behavioral health networks will see growing demand for specialized LGBTQ+ competent providers as venture-backed entrants like Allswell expand into new states and insurance networks.
