Benefis to Shut Great Falls Clinic, Cut Behavioral Health Services

Benefis Health System will close its northwest Great Falls clinic starting Dec. 19, consolidating family medicine and urgent care to its east campus, and will discontinue a 20-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit and all behavioral health services including outpatient counseling, psychiatry and psychology. Patients needing behavioral health care will be referred to outside providers such as the Center for Mental Health and Shodair Children's Hospital, with the transition continuing into 2027.

Montana Outlet Urges Voters to Press Candidates on Medicaid

In a commentary piece, the outlet argues that Montana voters should press candidates ahead of the November election on Medicaid, affordability, and taxes. The piece encourages residents to use the remaining two weeks before Election Day to question candidates directly on where they stand on these issues. No specific policy proposal, legislative action, or candidate position is detailed in the piece itself; it functions as a civic-engagement prompt rather than a report on new Medicaid policy.

Why it mattersCandidate positions on Medicaid funding and eligibility that emerge from this election could shape Montana's program budget and expansion policy in the next legislative session.
