Baystate Health's Takeover of Mercy Medical Stays on Nov. 1 Track
The transfer of Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., from Trinity Health of New England to Baystate Health remains on schedule for Nov. 1, pending regulatory approval, a Trinity spokesperson told Becker's. The deal, structured as a membership transfer rather than an asset sale, lets the 182-bed hospital retain its existing legal entity under new governance. Valued at $293 million based on Mercy's most recent full-year operating revenue, the transaction also covers Mercy's affiliated medical groups and joint ventures. Baystate and Trinity reached a definitive agreement in April, and Becker's is awaiting comment from Baystate.
