Parkview Health to Acquire Rural Shared-Services Firm Ovation Healthcare

Parkview Health, based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has signed an agreement to acquire Ovation Healthcare, a Brentwood, Tennessee-based shared services company that supports more than 500 healthcare organizations across 48 states with leadership advisory, spend management, revenue cycle and technology services. Rural hospitals, health systems and physician practices that rely on Ovation's platform are affected, as Parkview will add its own administrative and operational expertise to the combined offering. The companies will operate under the Ovation Healthcare brand with Parkview as owner, while Ovation retains a separate governing board; the deal is expected to close in the coming weeks pending regulatory review. Parkview framed the acquisition as a response to rural healthcare's resource crisis and a way to help independent providers lower costs and remain independent.

Why it mattersRural hospitals and critical access facilities that depend on Ovation's shared services should watch for changes in cost structure and administrative support as the platform integrates under new ownership.
